If you haven't noticed our blog has had a little face lift! Thanks to my bff Julie our blog has a new look! Hilary and I were feeling a little BLAH lately and realized that we were majorly slacking on our posts. I thought of the idea to update our blog and switch some things around, maybe this would inspire and motivate us to post more. Those who know me well know that I can't make a decision to save my life so I entrusted my pal Julie to help me out! She is one of the most, if not the most, creative person I know! She has so many incredible crafty ideas... check her blog out and her creations at http://embellishedbyjules.com/. (Side note: I'm making the netted picture frame for my jewelry!) Anywho, I could rave on and on and on about how awesome Julie is... she really is!:) Thanks Julie for the revamp!! We needed it!
Ok... on to today and this week. On Saturday I leave for OBX with Mike and his family and I"m so excited! However, with that excitement brings the "OMG I have to get into a bathing suit" fear. I hate bathing suits! Who likes bathing suits anyways? I struggle with finding them to fit my girls on top. Let's just say they don't fit so well in a Target Large... ugh! So I have to hunt around stores and websites in order to find ones that fit. I will say I did find 2 really cute ones at Jcrew last week and took a chance and ordered them. Much to my surprise they fit!
I digress... the beach... I can't wait! But as I said I'm nervous. I've been slacking the last month or so with my workouts and my eating habits. I've cheated more than my fair share and really haven't stuck to a strict workout plan. I have been working out just not like I want to be. This past week I have really kicked it up... I mean the beach is 1 week away (well WAS 1 week away). I've really watched what I've been eating, the portions, and got in some really great workouts with Tony! (Did I mention I'm also PMSing this week! It's been great! (sarcasm). I haven't really felt that good this week and even though I'm working out and really watching what I eat I still haven't felt "good".
I just wish that when you're ready to get in shape you could just wiggle your nose or blink your eyes and you'd have the body you were envisioning. Unfortunately, Bewitched was only a T.V. show and not reality. Sigh...Even though it's been a rough week internally I really feel good about myself (for being that time of the month!) and I'm inching my way a little closer to being ready for the beach. I don't think I'm ever fully ready for bathing suits but I'm not going to hide in a hole all summer either! Ready or not here I come!!
*I want to start blogging more and posting some recipes I'm trying out!
Tonight for dinner we're having Italian Turkey Meatloaf with grilled asparagus! This is a Tony Horton (p90x) recipe and it is DELICIOUS! We've had it before and loved it and it's super easy to make so it's a keeper! I made it on Sunday so it was ready to go for one day this week. Well, today is that day!
Here's a before it goes in the oven picture
... and AFTER (before I'm about to eat it!) with a some grilled asparagus and a small spinach salad with mushrooms and light balsamic dressing
I really like eating off small plates because it limits the space I have on the plate (to over eat) and looks like I have A LOT of food:)
Happy Wednesday! (PS: It's National Wine Wednesday!!!)
Cheers!
